Dr Ehsan Mellati has obtained his undergraduate dental degree with first class honors and subsequently worked in public and private sectors for few years. His growing interest in periodontology and implant dentistry prompted him to pursue 3 years of full-time postgraduate training at Melbourne Dental School to become a specialist periodontist.

Following graduation he has moved to Sydney and is now in full-time private practice restricted to periodontics and implant dentistry. He is the recipient of the prestigious ITI (International Team for Implantology) grant for his postgraduate thesis focusing on healing of soft and hard tissues around immediate implants. He believes in self-education and has done further training courses locally and internationally. He has published several articles in well-respected international journals and has been actively involved in presenting lectures and running continuing professional development events, and teaching undergraduate dental students and overseas trained dentists.

Dr Mellati is an active member of International Team for Implantology, Australian Dental Association, Australian and New Zealand Association of Periodontists and Australian Society of Periodontology.
