This hands-on program leads to certification in Advanced Life Support for dentists and staff. The training is designed to provide the practitioner and their support staff with a simple algorithm for the management of medical emergencies within the practice.

Participants will learn to conduct a quick and accurate clinical assessment of a patient presenting with a range of the most common serious medical conditions that are likely to be encountered in daily practice. This training involves simulation activities including the use of SimMan, the high fidelity manikin providing realistic feedback to the team as treatment is administered.
All activity is recorded enabling the practitioners to better analyse their performance.

Equipment training will include:

  • Airway and respiratory maintenance using Laryngeal Mask Airways, aspirators, supplementary oxygen therapy; and bag and mask ventilation
  • Use of acute care drug kit
  • Use of Automated External Defibrillator

Training Option 1: Programs at the Centre for Professional Development
This option is best for those who require only part of their team to be trained at one time. It also makes an enjoyable team-building day for you and your staff.

Training Option 2: Programs at your surgery
Cynergex Group can also come to your surgery (in Sydney metropolitan area) to conduct training. Cost efficient for groups of more than six, practical sessions take place in your surgery. For further details, call Cynergex Group on 02 9420 4699.
