Digital Dentures Masterclass 1 - Scanning Techniques
Speaker: Mr Terry Whitty
Whether you want to use an intra oral scanner or a lab scanner or both, you must get your records, be it impression or MMR and the like somehow to dive into digital dentures.
There are a plethora of methods available and surprisingly if you don't want to change the way you work in a major way you actually don't have to to still take advantage of the advances in digital dentures. This talk will discuss the different methods and key concepts of obtaining and digitising records for full and partial dentures ready for design. Practical demonstrations will be undertaken with the latest technology to digitise records at lightning speeds never seen before.
Dentist, Prosthetist or Lab technician do not miss this as it will stat you on your journey to Digital Dentures or at least get you thinking!

Digital Dentures Masterclass 2 - CAD Design
Speaker: Mr Terry Whitty
Designing dentures with CAD has actually been around for over 10 years and has evolved now to a mature technology. The two main softwares of choice are 3Shape and exocad but where do you start?
This talk will start at the beginning and demonstrate the concepts needed to be able to start designing digital dentures to a professional level. Practical demonstrations will be given of both softwares and the pros and cons of each will be discussed. If you are interested in Digital Dentures in any way this is the lecture you must not miss as it will enlighten you to design concepts you may not have thought about before.

Photogrammetry and it's application to All-on-X Demistified
Speaker: Mr Terry Whitty
Capturing the exact position of multiple implants exactly has either been a headache or if done digitally been very expensive. Regardless, it's one of the most important aspects of the design and manufacture of provisional and final prosthesis in the All on X workflow. In this lecture Photogrammetry will be demystified and explained and new affordable technologies will be discussed and demonstrated using this technology that takes the headache and " guesswork " out of clinical and laboratory techniques . If you are placing implants, restoring implants or doing the technical work for implants you need too know about these technologies as they will strip hours from your conventional workflows, do not miss this.

The Digital Patient - Whats new?
Speaker: Mr Terry Whitty
Facial scanning, Intra Oral Scanning, Smile Design and Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) has revolutionised the way we work. Combining these technologies puts it into another dimension completely and has created what we know as The Digital Patient. However, many people are not utilising this technology or at least not to its fullest potential. In this talk we will discuss the technologies available, how to put these into practice and how to merge the technologies to create the Digital Patient and how to use this technology for diagnosis treatment panning and appliances or restorations. Dentist or Lab technician this is the talk you need to attend so you don't get left behind when the Digital patient becomes the norm.

Speaker: Mr Terry Whitty
Print or Mill or both? After scan and design comes manufacture and now we are given an enormous choice when it comes to digital denture manufacture. This lecture will strip back all the fiction and really get down to the facts about digital denture manufacture. What are the new 3D printing technologies and materials for digital dentures? What are the new technologies for partial dentures ? What printer do I need ? What are the new laws applicable to digital manufacture of long term biocompatible appliances? For milling: what are the new methods available ? What are the new materials? What can I expect as a ROI?

The Role of Implant Restorations and Abutments in Peri-Implant Bone and Soft Tissue Loss
Speaker: Prof Axel K Spahr
With the global rise in dental implant placements, there has also been a notable increase in implant-related complications and failures. Among these, biological complications—characterised by peri-implant bone and soft tissue loss, chronic inflammation and aesthetic concerns—are particularly critical due to their often irreversible nature.
Traditionally, these complications have been attributed to biofilm-related infections or to hard and soft tissue trauma resulting from surgical factors. However, emerging evidence highlights additional, and perhaps unexpected, contributors: implant restorations and abutments.
This lecture will explore the evolving understanding of how restorations and abutments may influence peri-implant tissue stability. It will present strategies to mitigate their negative impact and critically examine whether abutments are really necessary in contemporary or future implantology and how digital dentistry plays a key role in this evolution.
