Registration opens at 8:30 AM
To: 5:00 PM Saturday, 16 May, 2026
Overview
This interactive hands-on workshop provides participants with a practical approach to posterior tooth preparation and adhesive bonding techniques, with a focus on IPS e.max overlays. Participants will develop a clear understanding of posterior overlay preparation principles, particularly occlusal reduction design and plane orientation for both maxillary and mandibular molars.
In addition to preparation techniques, participants will gain hands-on experience with bonding IPS e.max overlays, learning best practices for adhesive protocols to achieve predictable, durable clinical outcomes.
Key Learning Objectives
- Master posterior preparation principles for IPS e.max overlays, including indications and clinical decision-making.
- Differentiate occlusal reduction planes between maxillary and mandibular molars, optimising for functional and aesthetic outcomes.
- Gain confidence in adhesive bonding techniques for lithium disilicate (IPS e.max) restorations, including cement selection and adhesive cementation strategies.
- Develop practical skills in the use of different articulating papers and foils for occlusal assessment, alongside occlusal adjustment and finishing techniques, including selective occlusal refinement and polishing to achieve functional harmony, longevity, and a high-quality surface finish.
Who Should Attend
This course is designed for dentists looking to refine their posterior adhesive restoration techniques, with a focus on achieving strong, aesthetic, and biologically sound results using IPS e.max overlays. Whether you are new to overlay restorations or looking to enhance your existing techniques, this hands-on session will provide valuable practical experience that can be implemented immediately in clinical practice.
