Restoring the Single Tooth in Composite Resin - From Fractures to Discolouration

Presented by Dr Terry Wong

The general Dentist often comes across Patients requiring the single tooth restoration in the anterior region. The procedure to colour match and restore in Composite Resin to match adjacent healthy teeth can be a challenge. This course will focus on solving these difficult situations.

At the conclusion of this session, you will be abe to:

  • How to manage a fractured or broken single anterior tooth using Composite Resin
  • Understand Composite shade matching
  • Gain knowledge on ways to mask discoloured teeth
  • Recognise ways to maximise the life expectancy of the composite restorations

Simplifying and enhancing aesthetic and functional outcomes in complex cases using the ‘copy & paste’ wax up and inject technique.

Presented by Professor Ian Meyers

Aesthetic and functional restoration of multiple teeth in worn and broken down dentitions can present challenges for the dentist. Techniques using diagnostic wax-ups and injection moulding techniques (IMT) can simplify the process and make outcomes more predictable. This workshop will demonstrate and evaluate the use of IMT for complex restorative cases. Clinical tips and tricks on how to achieve improved aesthetic and functional success will be presented and discussed.

At the conclusion of this session, participants will:

  • Appreciate the benefits of injection moulding techniques for the reconstruction of anatomical form and function for both simple and complex cases.
  • Understand appropriate case selection and preparation for restoration.
  • Recognise the benefits and limitations of contemporary direct restorative materials.
  • Implement finishing and polishing techniques for enhanced aesthetics and longevity.
