Course Description

Today Monolithic anterior and posterior restorations are more popular than ever. Advances in CAD/CAM and press technology and the development of new materials offer the possibility of producing predictable and demanding dental restorations.

However, Monolithic restorations can show limitations when producing individual high aesthetic anterior dental restorations.

Is it possible to achieve maximum aesthetic results with minimal effort in all-ceramic Monolithic restorations? Yes, micro layering combines efficiency with aesthetics and cost-effectiveness and is the perfect synergy between the analog & digital world in your daily practice.

Micro layering creates a very small ceramic layer thickness of 0.3-0.8 mm leaving the restoration with more brilliance, aesthetics and a natural depth effect that has a homogenous natural surface and fluorescence.

  • Explanations of the strengths and weaknesses of current production technologies as well as the range of materials
  • Approach CAD Design
  • Manufacturing – processes and procedures (grinding, printing)
  • Which form of preparation is suitable and when?
  • Transmission of the stump color of the prepared tooth to the dental laboratory – when makes sense?
  • Aesthetically correct discolored teeth with veneers – how to proceed?
  • The decision – selection of the right blank (opacity-translucency color) adapted to the clinical situation
  • Significant aesthetic features in the anterior region
  • Anterior Veneer – IPS e.max CAD
  • Crystallization -process
  • Cut-Back techniques
  • Micro-layering (facial, partially reduced areas) with IPS e.max Ceram
  • Optimal glaze
  • Natural shine on layered areas
