Course Overview
This two-day hands-on course focuses on the aesthetic reconstruction of teeth and gingiva using modern, metal-free ceramic techniques. Participants will study, practice, and refine advanced strategies for creating highly aesthetic dental and gingival restorations, with a strong emphasis on light, colour, and surface characterisation.
Practical Training
Participants will work on an upper anterior six-unit zirconia framework with additional gingiva, applying ceramic materials over a zirconium structure across both days of the course.
The course combines theoretical foundations with intensive practical exercises to support progressive skill development and predictable aesthetic outcomes.
Key Learning Objectives
-
Understand the interaction of light and color in dental aesthetics
-
Master saturation, value, and translucency contrasts
-
Develop natural-looking ceramic restorations through controlled surface reflection
-
Apply advanced gingival layering techniques for realistic three-dimensional results
-
Improve finishing, texture, and mechanical polishing skills
Core Topics Covered
-
Theory of light in dental ceramics
-
Morphology and aesthetic design
-
Dentogingival stratification
-
Covered Makeup Technique
-
External makeup and layering techniques
-
Finishing and mechanical polishing
Special Techniques
Covered Makeup
A technique in which makeup is sealed beneath a thin enamel layer to achieve highly aesthetic, natural restorations with controlled light reflection and surface harmony.
Advanced Gingival Layering
In-depth study of ceramic gingival masses, combining conventional layering with saturated ceramics to create expressive, three-dimensional gingiva. The technique emphasises contraction control, additive texturing, and mechanical polishing.
