- how to determine the appropriate aseptic technique based on the procedure, your specific circumstances and recognised standards
- surgical hand hygiene technique options – traditional and waterless hand scrubs
- surgical gowning and gloving techniques including safe removal
- the importance of preparing for and ensuring support during surgical procedures
- how to establish and maintain an aseptic field for simple and complex procedures
- the importance of the equipment manufacturer’s instructions for use particularly for implant kits and surgical handpieces
- strategies to reduce the risk of inhalation and ingestion of kit components.
This program covers procedures performed under local anaesthetic, not IV sedation or general anaesthetic.
