The aim of the course is to provide a practical interactive course for general dentists looking to expand their direct composite placement skills.

With the development of material technology over recent years, the use of direct composite placement have expanded to provide a cost effective aesthetic solution for broken down dentition, particularly in the aged population. Understanding of the art and science behind these products allows the practitioner to effectively and efficiently incorporate laminations procedures into daily practice producing beautiful results.

Objectives of the course:

  1. Understanding the concepts of aesthetics including form, balance and harmony
  2. Understanding colour and how this applies to composite materials
  3. Techniques for "shade" selection
  4. Different techniques used to rebuild anterior restorations
  5. Occlusal aspects of anterior rebuilds

Hands-on

  1. Extensive Class IV defect rebuild using layering technique
  2. Direct composite laminate veneer
  3. Contour and polishing procedures
