Qualified first aiders are a great asset to any dental practice.
The CPR course will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively perform CPR and use defibrillation on a casualty who has stopped breathing. Not only suitable for those needing a CPR certificate for work, but anyone interested in learning these lifesaving skills. The First Aid course “Provide First Aid HLTAID011" provides participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively provide First Aid and perform CPR to a range of injuries and illnesses.
First Aid skills should be renewed every three (3) years from date of issue. Resuscitation skills should be renewed every 12 months as per First Aid in the Workplace Code of Practice and Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
The First Aid course includes pre-course online learning. This online learning will be emailed out to each attendee, once registrations close (approximately 1-2 weeks prior to the course date).
Participants who complete the full First Aid course will attain the unit HLTAID003 Provide First Aid which is mandatory for:
- HLT35015 Certificate III in Dental Assisting and is a prerequisite to the Certificate III study unit
- HLTDEN001 Prepare for and Assist with Oral Health Care Procedures
- HLT45015 Certificate IV in Dental Assisting
Participants who only complete the CPR Upgrade component will attain the unit HLTAID001 Provide CPR.
