The gold standard treatment option for managing soft tissue volume deficiencies involves the harvesting of autologous connective tissue, usually from the palate.  The harvesting procedure necessitates a second surgical site that requires management and is associated with donor-site morbidities (i.e. bleeding, discomfort, and risk of infection). Furthermore, the quantity of tissues that can be harvested from the palate is limited and can be of variable quality. Identifying alternatives that can address these issues is therefore of interest. A suitable alternative is now available, Geistlich Fibro-Gide®.

Geistlich Fibro-Gide® is a porcine-derived, porous, resorbable, and volume-stable collagen matrix of standardised dimension and quality.  It is specifically designed to maintain it’s volume, thereby providing a scaffold supporting angiogenesis and de novo soft tissue formation.

The #HomeKit® online course will give you an opportunity to learn more about the science and clinical application of Geistlich Fibro-Gide®.  You will practice handling, customising, and applying Geistlich Fibro-Gide® on a soft tissue model; all from the comfort of your own surgery or home.  The number of available kits are limited, so
register today to avoid missing out!
