The intended audience for this event includes:

With the ever-increasing use of computer aided design and manufacturing in the world of prosthetic dentistry, their capabilities and their effectiveness are now beginning to be understood. Rapid technological developments mean that keeping up with the latest can be rather daunting, and to be involved can require significant financial outlay and education. As clinical dentistry is science-based, we rely on research that seems to lag behind many of the innovations now before us.

At the conclusion of this session, participants will:

  • Understand the current state-of-the-art computers in the laboratory
  • Understand the benefits of CAD CAM and printing in the manufacture of prosthetic appliances
  • Have heard what the immediate future may hold for the current practice of removable prosthetics
  • Have received an introduction to some of the modern materials for clinical use
  • Have taken a look at the state-of-the-art computer designing appliances.
